For the past years, business process outsourcing has to boost Philippines economy to greater heights all thanks to their great manpower. But as time flies, it seems that many of our fellow Filipino BPO agents are facing health problems with connection to their outsourcing work. From the moment business process outsourcing companies’ starts to run their business here in the Philippines, everyone is aware that they are offering a different working condition as they require their employees to work during the night and on shifting schedules. But, due to the incentives and the rewarding lifestyle it offers to our hardworking Filipino workers, no one can seem to resist their great job offer. Adopting to the new schedule and on the weight of their jobs, BPO employees encounter the most stress. Although stress is present in every industry BPO workers are more prone to, anxiety, fear of missing deadlines and reaching boss expectations. Answer to Health Crisis Due to this, our dedicated Filipino workers are becoming subjected to health problems, like it was said by the Managing Director of Patanjali Ayurveda, “People are managing stocks, money, finance but they forget to manage their own life.” As far as we know, outsourcing companies in the Philippines are not alone. Source: simpleyogaathome.com They are spread worldwide meaning many BPO employees are going through the same health problems but, the BPO Philippines must consider practicing what the foreign BPO employers are doing to enrich their worker's health and well-being by encouraging their people to do yoga. International Yoga Day Last 2016, the International Yoga day took place and AYUSH ministry requested the participation of the corporate world to the extent that the government has invited corporate bodies and business chambers to initiate a mandatory 30-minute yoga break. After the event, most companies put up a one-day show for employees to do yoga. But according to Shailendra Pal Singh, founder of “Call Yoga” a renowned provider of corporate yoga service, “Yoga can do wonders when performed consistently not in bits and pieces. There is a need to make it a policy so that an employee working in an IT and BPO company can at least breathe right,” he added. If the outsourcing companies in the Philippines can only adopt this kind of exercise regimen, the percent of BPO workers with health problems will lessen and will likely disappear as workers start to practice a yoga lifestyle which is both beneficial not only to the body and mind but for their spirit.
